Jun 01, 2019
Origami Labs, a leading screen-free team communication solution company, participated in the Marriott International Innovation Challenge, one of the leading conferences in Asia. This one-day event was held on June 1, 2019, at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview in Shanghai, China.
This time, Origami Labs explored beyond the current audio and ring form factor and presented its new hardware and UI solution in this challenge.
”Our attendance at Marriot International Innovation Challenge reveals our dedication to reshaping the way people communicate and how our solution is attracting and impacting companies where team communication is imperative,” said Christie Lai, a mechanical engineer at Origami Labs.
The day-long event started with a morning panel, followed by a talk with Accenture, and finally, the pitch competition. At this pitch, Marriot is searching for new solutions to improve their customer experience.
The competition composed of 7 teams from China and Hong Kong that focused their solutions around hospitality. With the theme of “Future Travel”, Origami Labs proposed a solution that played into their expertise: screen-less, voice-based team communication. Judges from Marriott and various other tech and investment companies evaluated a 7-minute pitch and a 3-minute Q&A. Origami Labs was awarded first place at the end.
